What's your carbon footprint
Carbon offsets are generated from renewable energy projects which replace coal and fossil fuels and help conserve natural resources and ensure environmental sustainability. Ensuring environmental sustainability, is fast becoming a key concern of businesses.
The Most ImportantCompanies can choose to offset their Scope 2 and Scope 3 carbon emissions via renewable energy projects. This is year on year event, offsetting the same is also yearly.
|
The Most RELEVANTCarbon offsetting supports the development of renewable energy projects, enhances energy security and takes place outside the office/plant boundary. Renewable energy projects are eligible for promoting 'environmental sustainability' as per the new clarifications on CSR spend.
|
3RD PARTY CERTIFICATIONWe provide you with carbon offset retirement details, certificate, marketing materials for our sustainable projects etc. As per new CSR law, companies can use these materials to display compliance on their website.

Planting trees/SAVING FORESTS {ISSUES & PROBLEMS} - OUR VIEW
FOR MORE INSIGHTS ON REDD+, forest recovery and tree planting projects please click here.
The theory is that by personally planting trees(saving forests) or contributing to a commercial organisation or charity that will do this, trees will be planted that will (as they grow) take up an amount of CO2 equal to what you generate. One problem is that the trees will take decades to absorb the CO2, while you are generating EMISSIONS TODAY, we need to reduce CO2 emissions now.
|
Another problem is that the trees will give back the CO2 into the atmosphere eventually when they die and decompose, and so as well as planting the trees, you have to ensure that the land where they are planted remains as woodland indefinitely - impossible to guarantee, especially as forests are now dying from drought or being destroyed in forest fires. Finally, and crucially, the amount of land needed makes this unsustainable in the long term.
Carbon offsetting allows you to buy carbon offset certificates for carbon reductions that have occurred on account of the operational project activities (such as wind mills, solar farms, biomass projects etc worldwide) that are audited by independent third party verifiers and registered in Environmental Registries that keep track of all offset identification numbers (serial numbers), retirement details and other documentation. The entire process is transparent and trading occurs in real time between buyer and seller. |
